Dance Stop partners with CURE

We, as a studio, along with our Dance Stop Company, are excited to partner with CURE Childhood Cancer during our MidWinter season. "CURE Childhood Cancer set out in 1975 to increase the survival rate of all children with cancer. At that time, the rate was less than 20%. Since then, research has led to an overall survival rate of nearly 80%. But that is not, and never will be, good enough. Every child with cancer deserves to beat the disease. Not just 80% of them. That's why nothing less than 100% will do. 100% is the goal."

Our company dancers feel very strongly about supporting CURE this year as part of our Dance Stop Community Week program. It was our dancers who came to our director, Ms. Lynettte Strickland, asking to get behind this cause. Eager to help since, through school, friendships or church, their lives have been touched by a few local children for whom this is a reality. Once the ball started rolling, it became a bigger event within the studio, also encompassing our Fitness Team

There are many ways in which our families and community can participate in our efforts.

  • Buy a tribute sign for $1 in our studio lobby to show support for someone you know fighting cancer or in memorial of someone who lost their fight
  • Order a CURE t-shirt to honor those you are supporting. T-shirts are $15 with $5 going directly to CURE. Order deadline is February 18th.
  • Join us on March 5th, at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre for the final show of our annual MidWinter Concert. $1 from each ticket sold will go to CURE
  • March 10th our  Zumba Dance Party gets started at 6:30pm-8:00pm. There is a $10 suggested donation and 100% of the proceeds will go to CURE

Please join us in helping to put an end to childhood cancer. Dance Stop can't stop, won't stop, until there is a CURE.
