Iridescent Throw Back

Throwing it back to a shimmery June 1st. Spring Recital. The culmination of the year for most of our dancers. For our Company dancers it is their Grand Finale. The Dance Stop Company offers dancers extra opportunities to perform throughout the year. Prior to the recital they will already have performed at numerous local events as part of the DSC community service program.  This includes performances at the East Cobber and Jonquil Festivals and as guests for Pebblebrook High School's "Home For The Holidays".

In addition to a busy fall season, these dedicated dancers will also have performed extensive choreography at their Mid Winter Concert.  This amazing show is exculsively executed by our Company dancers of which there are many levels.  The youngest in the group make up the Apprentice Company, starting in fifth grade. These dancers audition each spring for their roles in the DSC, and will ultimately finish their high school years dancing in in the highest levels of Company and Ballet Ensemble.  Due to their exprience, our more advanced dancers also may choose to have extra roles in our recital. These week we would like to share with you the video of Company I dancers, Emma Wilson and Kendall Anderson dancing to "Breathe Me" by Sia.

“Red Hot” Throwback Thursday

Due to this relentless summer heat, we feel "Red Hot" today.  The Dance Stop Company is a non-profit organization formed to give students an intense study of dance. As a result, our dancers have extra opportunities to perform on a regular basis. Most noteworthy is their community service. Hence, they can be found dancing at assisted living homes and other local events during the fall season.  Extra performance opportunities means extra rehearsals. These dancers have a full schedule balancing academics and their love of dance! Our higher level dancers also may choose to have extra roles in our recital.  Enjoy this clip of DSC Company I members Aimee LaBrecque and Abby Waldner as they perform their duet from our spring recital to "Boy" by Little Mix.

National Dance Day Celebration

Throwing it back to Open House on this Thursday! In addition to the new faces, returning students and smiles all around - we danced! The kick off of Dance Stop Studios' 43rd season included celebrating dance together as part of the National Dance Day movement. Most noteworthy was that our own Ms. Mychael O'Brien and Ms. Aimee LaBrecque taught the official National Dance Day choreography to the crowd. A huge thank you to http://dizzyfeetfoundation.org/ for creating an annual event that encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health. Thank you to all who joined in the fun. Consequently, we had a great time and would love to have you "Come dance with us!"
